Bootid meteor  showers can be seen directly with the naked eye or using telescopes in the open and dark.

1. Perseid Meteor Shower

The Perseid is a meteor shower derived from the residual dust of comet 109/PSwifts-Tuttle.

The peak of the Perseid meteor  shower will decorate the earth’s sky from August 13 to 14, 2022.

This phenomenon will descend with a maximum intensity of 100 meteors per hour and can be witnessed for 25 minutes before sunrise, when its radian points culminate in the North direction.

2. Total Lunar Eclipse

A total lunar eclipse will again decorate the earth’s sky on November 8, 2022.

This time, the total lunar eclipse lasted for 1 hour 24 minutes 58 seconds, while the umbral duration  (partial and total) was 3 hours 39 minutes.

The peak of the total lunar eclipse can be witnessed starting at 6:00 p.m. local time.

Unfortunately, there are several regions of Indonesia that cannot show this celestial phenomenon, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Bengkulu.

3. Geminid Meteor Shower

The last celestial phenomenon that can be witnessed at the end of 2022 is the Geminid meteor shower.

The meteor shower, which originated from the remaining dust of the asteroid 3200 Phaethon , is predicted to occur on December 14-15, 2022.

According to information from LAPAN-BRIN, Geminid can be watched from the Northeast to the Northwest from 20:30 local time to 25 minutes before sunrise.
